Hjördis Genberg, fashion model, 1943-1944

These model shots of Hjördis Genberg mostly date between 1943-44, from her days with NK (Nordiska Kompaniet) Franska department in Stockholm. Greta Garbo also modelled for the company back in 1923 – for double their normal fee.

By July 1942, Hjördis was already the leading lady among the fashion models at NK’s Leja store, just a year after joining them as a student. “I love beautiful clothes, and the mannequin profession is the best there is,” she declared.

Most of these photos are reproduced from the fantastic fashion photo collection at the Swedish DigitaltMuseum. Well worth a visit!
